We have had a few parents lately who have experienced some scary asthma flare-ups in their kids. They went to the ED at the hospital, were seen and then were sent home a little while later. However, once home, things got worse and the child needed the blue reliever puffer less than every two hours. What should they do? GO BACK to the Emergency Department. If your child needs reliever medicine this frequently or if it isn't working when you give it, don't delay, seek help straight away. Things can go bad very quickly in children and it is imperative that you act quickly - even if you were recently sent home. It is better to be safe than sorry - if you are worried, take your child back.
